Hello my friends, I'm Ted Stilles and once again, I'm taking you behind my process.
In October 2023, a record collector and store owner named Lance Bgressi of Permanent Records discovered the Bhang album at a record convention. He reached out via social media and expressed an interest in a reissue collaboration.
After some back and forth, we had a contract hammered out in November with Daniel Hall of RidingEasy Records for the reissue of Ted Stilles Bhang. All six songs are on the reissue.
I personally handled the remastering. So much time has transpired between then and now â and it's fascinating to see the growth in terms of songwriting, engineering, and production. The distance between who I was in 1980 and who I am now gave me the clarity to hear the record for what it truly was, and to bring it forward without losing what made it original.
A few previously unreleased tracks from the Bhang sessions have been unearthed and may be included in subsequent editions. There is more story still to tell.
As an artist, I'm always forward thinking. As we approach the 60th anniversary of my guitar journey through life, connecting the dots from then to now reveals an overarching story â the healing properties of music and mankind.
Bhang waited 43 years for this moment. It was worth the wait.
